Ballet (Ages 10+)

This class for intermediate/advanced level will focus on strong technical barre warmup for 45 minutes working through the entire body.   At the barre we will mindfully work so the dancer can explore and fine tune their barre work and learn more how their own bodies can make adjustments.

Centre work will be 45 minutes of fun combinations which will include adagio, turns, jumps, leaps, petite allegro, across the floor etc using more complex changes of weight and patterns in the style of ABT.   Her style of teaching is encouraging the dancers to let go and move through each combination trusting in their technique to find the joy in ballet.

Contemporary (Ages 10+)

This class is for students ages 10 and up, specifically intermediate/advanced dancers. This class is rooted in the modern release technique that focuses on using breath, muscle relaxation, and gravity to facilitate movement. Because of Jessica‘s hip-hop background, this class incorporates floor work and challenges dancers with their musicality, phrase work, and dynamics. This contemporary class will allow students to have the ability to deepen their improvisation skills and learn more partnering techniques.

Contemporary dance is an expressive form of the body based on foundational technique, free movement and improvisation. Dancers will learn to communicate and express by manipulating the body, time, rhythm, space, gravity, breath, and energy.
