This fun and energetic class introduces young performers to the core elements of musical theater: singing, dancing, and acting! Through age-appropriate games, movement, and storytelling, students will build confidence, coordination, and stage presence while learning how to work as an ensemble. Class time includes vocal warm-ups, basic choreography, character play as well as learning key theater terms and proper theater etiquette, on stage and off! No prior experience needed—just enthusiasm and imagination! This class lays the foundation for young performers to shine on stage and is a required component of our Spring Musical program (only for ages 5-8).​

This combo class helps build coordination, balance, and a love for dance. Students will learn basic ballet positions, movements, and tap rhythms while building coordination, balance, and musicality.

​This upbeat combo class introduces young dancers to the elegance of ballet and the energy of jazz! Students will build a strong foundation through basic ballet positions, posture, and technique, then switch gears to explore lively jazz movements like kicks, turns, and across-the-floor combinations. With a balance of structure and fun, this class helps dancers improve coordination, rhythm, and confidence—all while expressing themselves through music and movement.

Classes are filled with imaginative play, upbeat music, and engaging activities designed to nurture creativity, focus, and a love of movement. A perfect first step into the world of dance!

Intermediate/Advanced Tap (Ages 12+)

Step into the spotlight and bring Broadway to life with this energetic and engaging Musical Theater Tap class! Designed for dancers ages 10 and up, this class combines the excitement of musical theater with the rhythmic precision of tap dance. Students will learn dynamic choreography inspired by iconic musical theater productions, focusing on storytelling through movement, character development, and expressive performance skills. Classes will include:
- Tap Technique: Building a strong foundation in tap vocabulary, rhythm, and coordination.
- Musicality: Understanding how to connect tap sequences to music and lyrics.
- Choreography: Learning routines from Broadway favorites while exploring your own unique style.
- Performance Skills: Cultivating stage presence and confidence through character-driven dance.
Must have two years of tap experience. Tap shoes required.

Lyrical (Ages 7-12)

​This expressive class blends the grace of ballet with the emotion and storytelling of contemporary dance. Dancers will explore how to connect movement to music, using dynamics, emotion, and fluid technique to bring lyrics to life. Through age-appropriate choreography and guided improvisation, students will build strength, flexibility, and musicality while developing their own unique artistic voice. Each class includes a warm-up, across-the-floor exercises, and a lyrical combination that encourages personal expression and creativity. Perfect for dancers who love to move with feeling and tell stories through motion.

This class for intermediate/advanced level will focus on strong technical barre warmup for 45 minutes working through the entire body. At the barre we will mindfully work so the dancer can explore and fine tune their barre work and learn more how their own bodies can make adjustments. Centre work will be 45 minutes of fun combinations which will include adagio, turns, jumps, leaps, petite allegro, across the floor etc using more complex changes of weight and patterns in the style of ABT. Her style of teaching is encouraging the dancers to let go and move through each combination trusting in their technique to find the joy in ballet.

Emphasis is placed on proper terminology, coordination, and performance quality in both styles. This course is designed for young actors ready to deepen their understanding of the stage as both a craft and a discipline. Students will refine their performance techniques through scene study, monologue work, physical characterization, and ensemble collaboration — with an emphasis on making bold, informed choices as actors. In parallel with hands-on performance training, the class explores the evolution of theater as an art form. From classical texts to modern realism, students will examine key movements, playwrights, and performance styles that have shaped the theatrical canon. Through a combination of rehearsal process, critical discussion, and historical context, students will strengthen their command of language, timing, and presence — preparing them for more complex roles and future production opportunities.

This adult class is perfect for professionals looking to recharge during the workday—no dance experience required. You’ll begin with a guided warm-up to awaken your muscles and sharpen your focus, followed by strengthening exercises that target your full body. As the music lifts, so will your energy—expect to move across the space with rhythm, intention, and joy.
You’ll learn a simple yet soul-stirring choreographed routine to a song that speaks to your spirit, with every movement adapted to your comfort level. Together, we’ll release stress, overthinking, and tension, allowing your body to lead the way. The class concludes with deep core engagement and a calming stretch to leave you grounded, open, and ready to take on the rest of your day.
Led by Christina, each session closes with a brief, reflective conversation on how to invite more presence, peace, and vitality into everyday life. This isn’t just a class—it’s a midday reset for body, mind, and spirit.

The Academy’s Show Choir is an engaging program for passionate performers combining powerful vocal arrangements with dynamic choreography. This ensemble offers a fun yet focused environment for students to develop their singing and dancing skills while growing as confident, well-rounded performers.
Students will:
• Learn advanced vocal techniques and harmonies across various musical styles.
• Learn choreography ranging from foundational to advanced, taught by special guest choreographers.
• Build confidence, teamwork skills, and stage presence essential for delivering captivating performances.
This choir is designed for students with a love of music and movement, offering opportunities to perform at community events and showcases, creating meaningful growth and unforgettable experiences.

Students should prepare an upbeat pop or musical theater piece (approximately 32 bars) that showcases their vocal range. Additionally, they will learn a brief dance combination during auditions, so please bring appropriate footwear.
